The CoR will participate to the 2018 ICLEI World Congress, as part of the Action Plan that our institution signed with ICLEI in 2017. Hundreds of local, regional and national governments, international agencies, representatives of the private sector, academics and researchers, community groups and other partners from around the world will come together to steer the global sustainable development agenda by strengthening action taken in urban areas worldwide.
Mr BIWER, first Vice-Chair of the Commission ENVE, will represent the CoR both by speaking at the following workshops and sessions:
5th Urban Nature Forum (19 June);
Nature Based Solutions: Transforming environmental and societal challenges into innovation opportunities (20 June);
Transforming the way we collaborate: Multi-level and collaborative governance for sustainable cities, towns and regions (21 June).
He will also attend sessions and workshops highly relevant to the current CoR work, such as Enabling factors for a community-based energy transition (June 22) in view of Ms GÂJU (RO/PES) Opinion on Models of local energy ownership and the role of local energy communities in energy transition in Europe.
