Meeting of the Commission expert group for the maintenance and implementation for Directive 2007/2/EC (INSPIRE). The EU's 2007 INSPIRE Directive provides the foundation for the creation of a European Spatial Data Infrastructure for the European Union. This enables the sharing of environmental spatial information among public sector organisations, facilitates public access to spatial information across Europe and supports policy-making across boundaries. To facilitate the exchange of experience and good practice concerning implementation and maintenance of the INSPIRE Directive amongst Member States, and to advise the Commission during the preparation of delegated and implementing acts, the Maintenance and Implementation Expert Group (MIG) meets on a regular basis.
