Your job and responsibilities:

Are you interested in being part of a dynamic team, holding a very varied set of responsibilities and having frequent contacts with CoR (Committee of the Regions) members?

As an assistant in the Commission for the environment, climate change and energy (ENVE), you are responsible for providing general administrative support to the work of the ENVE Commission and its administrators in various policy areas. This includes also providing support on the activities of the "Green Deal Going Local working group", the "Covenant of Mayors" and "CoR 4 Climate Pact" initiatives, managed by the ENVE Commission. You also coordinate autonomously the follow up of all legislative works of the ENVE Commission within the set deadlines.

Your responsibilities include:

− preparation of working documents, draft opinions and reports;

− communication with rapporteurs, members and experts concerning legislative works;

− preparation and management of stakeholder consultations (remote and onsite in the CoR premises);

− management of amendments and voting on opinions, both in plenary sessions and commission meetings.

You provide logistical organisation of ENVE commission meetings (either in Brussels or in a hosting region, or remotely via an online system) by following detailed CoR procedures in coordination with various CoR units, preparing documents and correspondence, and communicating with CoR Members, Political Group colleagues and external stakeholders.

You also provide administrative and logistical support for (onsite or remote) policy-related events and horizontal activities (study, survey, report, consultation), in coordination with other units and external stakeholders. Knowing how to work with Interactio IT tool is an asset.

You act as backup to the other assistants of the unit and carry out tasks as assigned by the Head of Unit.


Are you the talent we are looking for?

  • You possess previous experience in logistical and administrative support;
  • You can organise your work very efficiently, prioritise when working under pressure and you enjoy being part of a team;
  • You have very good verbal and written skills, in particular for communicating with politicians and high-level stakeholders;
  • You have a thorough knowledge of one of the official languages of the European Union and at least a satisfactory knowledge of another of these languages. For functional reasons, a very good knowledge of English and at least a good knowledge of French are required. Knowledge of any other EU languages would be an asset;
  • Knowledge of the functioning of the EU institutions would be an asset;
