Duties

• Coordination:
- administrative and logistical coordination of the activities with other departments, units, directorates and external actors;
- direct and regular contacts with the other institutions, CoR members, experts and local and regional authorities.

• Preparation of draft opinions, reports and working documents:
- providing information to rapporteurs and experts concerning the drafting/formatting of opinions and translation deadlines;
- finalisation, formatting and layout of texts and dispatch to the translation services.

• Application of the Rules of Procedure:
- implementing, interpreting and applying administrative rules, instructions, procedures and operations, in particular in relation to the rules of procedure governing the running of internal and external commission meetings and plenary sessions.

• Preparation and follow-up of ENVE Commission meetings in Brussels and outside Brussels.

• Preparation of documents for the Bureau and Plenary Sessions, among others:
- preparation of proposals for own-initiative opinions and forwarding them to the head of unit;
- preparation of the reasoned statement for external activities and forwarding it to the head of unit;
- formatting of the memos to the President;
- checking admissibility of amendment;
- preparation of the table setting out the order in which amendments are to be discussed;
- formatting and dispatch of amendments to the translation services, sorted by language and by opinion.

Qualifications and skills required

- Thorough knowledge of an official language of the European Union and satisfactory knowledge of another official language of the European Union. For functional reasons, a thorough knowledge of English or French is required, knowledge of other languages of the European Union would be an asset;
- A sense of initiative, strong team spirit, interpersonal skills, ability to manage conflicting priorities and capacity to deliver under tight deadlines are essential;
- Very good knowledge of the CoR Rules of Procedure and administrative procedures as well as a good knowledge of the political structures and organisation of the CoR would an asset;
- Good knowledge of IT tools used in the CoR or ability to quickly acquire this knowledge would be an asset.
