On April 21st, 27 members of the European Committee of the Regions- one per Member
State - will constitute the Covenant of Mayors Chamber of National Ambassadors.
They will become the national representatives within the Covenant of Mayors in Europe to
endorse and reinforce the initiative in the Member States, in cooperation
with the European Commission, the Covenant of Mayors Office, the European
Committee of the Regions and the National Associations of local and
regional governments.
In this first meeting, the National Ambassadors will discuss on the
Covenant national strategy and on their role as ambassadors.
This first meeting will follow the signing ceremony of all Covenant Board
Members in the framework of the presentation of the “Covenant-Europe for a
fairer, climate-neutral Europe” aiming to step up the climate ambitions and
accelerate a just climate transition.
