In the context of recent works within the Commission for natural resources (NAT) of the European Committee of the Regions in the field of fisheries and sustainable ocean governance, the CoR NAT Commission is organizing a conference on Sustainable Fisheries in the Black Sea, chaired by the first Vice-President of the NAT Commission Mr. Anthony BUCHANAN (UK/European Alliance).

The event aims at a constructive discussion with all stakeholders in the Black Sea region, touching upon Common Fisheries Policy, fisheries management tools and relations with third countries.

Taking into account the goal the Common fisheries policy to introduce multiannual ecosystem-based management tools for smarter and greener fisheries, the European Committee of the Regions supports the efforts of coastal communities in transitions and has commented on multiple occasions on the challenges of the CFP.

The objective for this stakeholder event is to provide an overview of the situation on the ground for decision-makers and provide a voice for coastal communities and fishermen on European level.

REGISTRATION IS CLOSED

Participants are kindly asked to organise their own transportation. All participants are responsible for booking and paying for their own accommodation.
