Land Burgenland, together with the European Commission in Austria, Europe Direct Burgenland and BürgerInnen Forum Europa, supported by the European Committee of the Regions, organises a high-level panel discussion in the context of the Conference on the Future of Europe.
The high-level panel consists of
- the Governor of Burgenland, Mr Hans Peter Doskozil
- the First Vice President of the European Parliament, Mr Othmar Karas
- the Head of the European Commission Representation in Austria, Mr Martin Selmayr
- the Provincial councilor for Youth, Education and Family, Ms Daniela Winkler
Moderation is done by Margaretha Kopeinig, freelance journalist and writer.
2022 being the European Year of Youth, the ideas about the future of Europe will be discussed mainly with young people: Burgenland invited youth representatives, young politicians, students and experts on youth policy to discuss the future of Europe together with the youth.
There will also be an online participation from students of the master program “European Studies - Management of EU Projects" of Fachhochschule Burgenland.
The Event takes place in the Friedensburg (“Castle of Peace") Schlaining where not only the special exhibition “100 Years Burgenland" but also the Austrian Center for Peace and Conflict Resolution (APCR, Startseite - ASPR) is located.
