Stakeholder consultation on "People-to-people and small projects in cross-border cooperation programmes"

The European Committee of the Regions is drafting an opinion on the "People-to-people and small projects in cross-border cooperation programmes".

The Rapporteur on the opinion, Mr Pavel BRANDA (CZ/ECR), Member of the COTER Commission of the CoR and chairman of the Interregional Group on Cross-border cooperation, together with his expert Mr Martín Guillermo-Ramírez, Secretary General of Association of European Border Regions (AEBR) would be happy to meet with stakeholders for a consultation and exchange of views on this opinion.

People-to-people (P2P) and small projects play an essential role in cross-border cooperation programmes and have contributed greatly to their success. The problem is that the P2P projects are often small and not anchored in the current regulations. They are also hard to measure.

The upcoming CoR own-initiative opinion shall provide a strong argument for sustaining this important aspect of cross-border cooperation and provide also the evidence of such projects. The rapporteur will also distribute a short discussion paper on P2P projects on Monday 13 March.

In addition, if you have any written positon or information about P2P projects from your region, you are welcome to send them to us by email.
