Info Point - Summer Camps for Ukrainian children 2023

On 4 and 5 May, the European Committee of the Regions will organise an Info Point on the Summer Camps for Ukrainian children initiative.

The Info Point will be set up on the side of the meetings organised in the context of the Enlargement Day, and in particular during the meeting of the 5th Working Group on Ukraine, which takes place at the European Committee of the Regions (Rue Belliard 99-101, Brussels, room JDE 52) on 4 May from 09:30 - 13:00.

The aim of the Info Point is to encourage more cities and regions to join this initiative and provide practical information on how they can organize a summer camp, drawing on last year's experiences and information provided during a targeted online information session organised on 3 May 2023 by the European Committee of the Regions together with the Association of Ukrainian Cities.

Launched one year ago by Vitaliy Klitschko, President of the Association of Ukrainian Cities and Mayor of Kyiv, and the President of the European Committee of the Regions, Apostolos Tzitzikostas, this broad initiative of organising summer camps for Ukrainian children in European cities and villages seeks to give these children the chance to stay with their peers and receive targeted psychological support to stabilize their emotional state and help distract them from traumatising experiences.

The summer camps are part of a broader show of solidarity by the EU's cities and regions, ranging from humanitarian aid to twinning partnerships and commitments to support the reconstruction of Ukraine .

More information about the summer camps can be found in the concept note (in all languages) and the FAQs.

If you are interested in joining this initiative, please notify us of your interest in hosting a summer camp in your city or region. Our contact: SupportUkraine@cor.europa.eu
