Les jeunes Femmes sont aussi l'avenir de l'Europe! Virtual Agora with young women at risk of social exclusion within the framework of the Conference on the future of Europe
On 24th November the Barcelona Provincial Council and the Department of Aude (DGAST), with the collaboration of CEPLI (European Confederation of Intermediate Local Governments), are organising a citizens' dialogue with the participation of young women at risk of social exclusion, to discuss the future of the Union. CoR Member André Viola is the initiator of this event  This citizens' dialogue will take place from 14.30 to 16.30, in a "virtual agora" (hybrid) format, bringing together women from both territories to exchange their views.

The current reality shows us that there is a growing need for a more systematic and permanent dialogue with citizens, and in particular with young people; this audience is generally considered as a "target" of European policies, as a "youth guarantee" and even as a kind of "social minority". It is for this reason that the Aude department and the Diputació de Barcelona, through the call launched by the Committee of the Regions for the organisation of panels and citizens' dialogues, want to give a voice to a group of 15 to 20 women threatened with exclusion on both sides of the Pyrenees: young people in RSA, single mothers or beneficiaries of the "Youth Guarantee", among others. The exchange will be organised around several key questions: What has Europe done for these young women so far, how do they see their future on the European continent, what do they expect from the EU, what do they think is not working well, etc. The aim of these questions is to give this group of women a voice on the future of Europe and to support them so that they can become more involved in the construction of the European continent, a project that also represents their future.

The citizens' dialogue will also include the participation of the Representation of the European Commission in Barcelona and the organised social fabric. And also with elected representatives both from the French side, Mr. André Viola, elected delegate for Europe and abroad of the department of Aude, president of the French delegation of the European Committee of the Regions, and from the Catalan side, Ms. Pilar Díaz, deputy assistant to the Presidency and delegate for International Relations of the Diputació de Barcelona and Alba Barnusell, deputy delegate for Equality Policies, who will take up the baton and put on their agendas the result obtained in order to be able to address possible solutions.

This conference is necessary, as it will mark a before and after. On the one hand, it can enable the subsequent implementation of European cooperation actions involving young women's groups participating in the dialogue. On the other hand, it can serve as a key instrument to improve communication mechanisms towards citizens and, in turn, to improve the Union's power to act, react, protect and respond to the needs expressed by its citizens.
