This online debate followed the series of informative sessions for citizens about the digitalization of their everyday lives and the EU contribution to this. During the exchange Stavros Arnaoutakis, Governor of the Region of Crete, CoR member and other key representatives of the EU exchanged views with the citizens of the region to get their feedback and suggestions for EU priorities and programs for the digital future.
In the region of Crete, we strongly believe that informed citizens develop critical thinking as they become active in society. This 'activation' of citizens is vital for the social and economic development of the region.
The results of the interaction can be used by stakeholders and the EU to formulate strategies and actions in a more engaging way that can enhance the social impact and will feed into the Conference on the Future of Europe.
