Stakeholder consultation on "Recommendations for the successful design of regional development strategies beyond 2020"

The European Committee of the Regions (CoR) is currently preparing an own-initiative opinion on "Recommendations for the successful design of regional development strategies beyond 2020". The objective of this opinion is to complement the series of legislative CoR opinions on the cohesion policy proposals for 2021-2027 by facilitating a debate on the strategic funding priorities in the next programming period from a local and regional perspective, against the background of the envisaged trends and challenges that will shape the European territories in the coming decade. One important aspect of this debate is the question of how to ensure synergies and complementarities between cohesion policy and sector-specific EU funding instruments and strategies, as well as their role in overall territorial development.

We are pleased to announce that the rapporteur for this opinion, Mr Adam Struzik (PL/EPP), President of Mazovia Region, would like to meet with representatives of local and regional associations and other stakeholders for a consultation and an exchange of views on the relevant topic of this opinion.

The consultation will take place on
16 May 2019 from 14:30 to 16:00
in the Committee of the Regions building
(Rue Belliard 99-101, 1040 Brussels)
Room JDE 51

Simultaneous interpretation will be provided in Polish and English (tbc)

After a short introduction, the audience will be invited to exchange views with the rapporteur. In addition, if you have any position papers relevant to the subject, you are kindly invited to send them by email to coter@cor.europa.eu.

You can register until 13:00 on 15 May 2019 to participate in this debate to shape the rapporteur's views.

Please note that – due to security reasons – only registered persons have access to the Committee's building. You will be requested to show a valid ID card or passport in order to access the building.

Please also note that in order to reduce paper waste, the CoR will not provide paper copies of documents for the meeting.
