The 16th ENVE commission meeting will take place fully in person on Tuesday, 14 February from 11:00 to 17:30 at the European Committee of the Regions, Rue Belliard 99-101, Brussels room JDE 52.

In the morning, the agenda foresees an exchange of views on the "Revision of the Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive", rapporteur: ÅGREN WIKSTRÖM, Åsa (SE/EPP).
Followed by a debriefing on the CoR participation at the UN Convention on Biological Diversity COP15 and a discussion on the CoR SEDEC opinion "Amending the Directive on Asbestos", rapporteur ZDANOWSKA, Hanna (PL/EPP).
In the afternoon, a debate on the Priorities of the Swedish Presidency on energy security and the climate transition will take place, with the participation of the Presidency and the cabinet of EVP Timmermans. The debate will be followed by two exchanges of views on:
- "Fostering the potential and synergies of EU energy and climate initiatives for regions and cities", rapporteur GRYFFROY, Andries (BE/EA);
- "Revision of the EU Ambient Air Quality Legislation", rapporteur POWER, Una (IE/Greens).
The meeting will close with two presentations in the Green Deal Helpdesk on:
- The Green Deal Going Local Handbook on Adaptation - by Alessandra Antonini, Head of Sector, ENVE Commission, CoR;
- Partnerships of Regional Innovation – a contribution towards the Green Deal, climate mitigation and adaptation, and next steps of common interest, by Xabier Goenaga Beldarrian, Head of Unit for Knowledge for Finance, Innovation and Growth, JRC, European Commission.
