On 18 September 2017, the ENVE commission will hold its 15th meeting in Brussels. On this occasion, members of the ENVE commission will discuss and adopt the following opinions:
- Opinion on Climate finance: An essential tool for the implementation of the Paris Agreement - Rapporteur: Marco DUS (IT/PES);
- Opinion on Role of waste-to-energy in the circular economy - Rapporteur: Kata TUTTO (HU/PES
The meeting will also represent an opportunity to the ENVE members to have an exchange of views on Promoting coexistence with conflict species within the framework of the EU Nature Directives [Rapporteur: Csaba BORBOLY (RO/EPP)].
Prior to the ENVE commission, CoR President, Mr Karl-Heinz LAMBERTZ will sign an Action plan between the European Committee of the Regions and ICLEI. The Action Plan will aim to reinforce synergies between the CoR and ICLEI in order to contribute to the implementation of a number of key international processes, notably the Paris Climate Agreement and the UN Convention on Biodiversity.
On the same occasion, the Action Plan between the European Committee of the Regions and Climate Alliance will be signed. The purpose of this Action Plan is to lay down the foundations for the future collaboration between the EU institution representing local and regional authorities in the EU and the Climate Alliance of European Cities with Indigenous Rainforest Peoples, the European city network dedicated to climate action.
