That is what's on the agenda with speakers from the European Commission, European Parliament, Czech Presidency and 7 European regions.
The project Water Technology Innovation Roadmaps is based on a Blueprint for place-based Innovation Ecosystems. It shows a step-by-step approach to increase the critical mass of innovation ecosystems related to a RIS3 topic. iWATERMAP selected the water technology sector as a focus area. The importance of the sector lies in its ability to help to address societal challenges related to water resource management – which help unlock the circular economy and are key in climate change adaptation. There was a strong focus on bridging the European innovation divide, with 5 widening regions and 7 less developed or transition regions.
The project used three Roadmaps to maximise impact in specific intervention areas:
(1) Boosting critical mass of the water innovation ecosystem;
(2) Talent Development and skills training and
(3) Interregional Collaboration.
This coincides largely with flagship 3, 4 and 5 of the New European Innovation Agenda.
Join this session to learn how regions can punch above their own weight by becoming innovation leaders and creating the right conditions for more competitiveness, growth and jobs in the regions.
