The European Commission (DG REGIO), the European Committee of the Regions and “Mission Opérationnelle Transfrontalière" (MOT) have the pleasure to announce the organisation of the second edition of the Borders Forum, on 21 and 22 June 2022 at the Cité Internationale Universitaire in Paris. The event will also be broadcasted online. The event is organised with the support of the French National Agency for the Cohesion of Territories.
Organised in the context of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the Borders Forum will put the spotlight on cross-border areas, which concern 40% of the European Union and more than 2 million cross-border workers. Bringing together local, national, and European actors of cross-border cooperation, this event will highlight the place, the role, and the resilience of cross-border territories in Europe.
The Green Deal, the new Interreg programmes, the revision of the Schengen Border Code and the recent Franco-Italian Treaty of Quirinal are all recent examples of the importance of border regions in the European and national political agendas.
You will be able to follow the event in French, English, German, Italian and Spanish.
The updated programme is available here.
