Science meets Regions – advancing evidence for policy across Europe

​​Research & Innovation is one of the 4 priority policy areas for 2023 of the SEDEC Commission, chaired by Tanya Hristova, the Mayor of Gabrovo in Bulgaria. "Science meets regions" is the flagship of this priority and has been supported since 2021 through the Preparatory Action “Advancing Evidence for Policy at Local and Regional Level".

This event is the culmination of more than 2 years of cooperation between the European Committee of the Regions and the European Commission's Joint Research Centre. In addition to Mayor Hristova and the Director-General of the JRC Stephen Quest, participants will hear from the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation (representing the Spanish Presidency of the Council). 

Through parallel sessions and networking, there is the chance to discover initiatives, see the outcome of the preparatory action and debate the future of this important policy area. ​
