EU - What has to change?  

On June 17th, 2017, a citizens’ dialog will be hosted with the theme “EU – What has to change?” in the Thuringia State Parliament, located at Jürgen-Fuchs-Straße 1, 99096 Erfurt, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m..

Thuringian citizens will have the opportunity to discuss the status quo of the European Union, as well as what must be changed for the future of the EU, in the form of an open-podium discussion with members of the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) and other individuals, including: DDr. Herwig van Staa (President of the Tirolian State Parliament, Vice President of the CoR, member of the European People’s Party), Dr. Babette Winter (Vice President of the CoR, Chairwoman of the German branch of the Party of European Socialists, State Secretary for Culture and Europe in the Thuringian State Chancellery), Marion Walsmann, MdL (German State Representative, CDU Spokeswoman for European Politics in the Thuringian State Parliament, member of the CoR and the European People’s Party), Kata Tüttö (Councilwoman of the 12th District of Budapest, member of the CoR and the Party of European Socialists) and Richard Kühnel (Representative of the European Commission in Germany).

The event is hosted in cooperation with the Thuringian State Chancellery and the European Information Center of Thuringia, and is open to all interested citizens, including students, academics, and both local and regional figures of the EU in the areas of economics, social matters, and politics. The dialog shall be moderated by Martin Debes, head reporter of the Thüringer Allgemeine newspaper.
