Living, Learning and Working in a Border Region - What is Europe doing?  

The one day event in Görlitz will involve different CoR Members from different political parties: Heinz Lehmann (DE/ EPP), Barbara Hackenschmidt (DE/PES), Bernd Lange (DE/EPP) and Pavel Branda (CZ/ ECR). They represent two German Länder (Saxony/ Brandenburg) and the Czech Republic.


The initiative consists in four different parts:
1. A discussion with students from different Schools in Görlitz about several issues: living in a border region, multilingualism, culture and skills shortage. The discussion with students will be prepared by teachers and experts from the schools in cooperation with the CoR-Members. The CoR's Reflecting on Europe online survey will be applied.
2. A Stakeholder Discussion with partners of cross border cooperation (German, Polish and Czech). Best-Practice- Examples will be presented, mostly supported by European Funds: Neisse:go, German polish VET in health professions.
3. A visit of the Eurocity of Görlitz
4. A Citizens' Dialogue in the evening about different issues: skills shortage, culture, structural change. In the Citizens' Dialogue the audience will be involved as much as possible by using different formats like fishbowl, the Reflecting on Europe online survey, interviews or presentations of participants.

18:30 - 20:30 Citizens' Dialogue: Berufliches Schulzentrum Christoph Lüders (Carl-von-Ossietzky-Str. 13-16, 02826 Görlitz)
