9th plenary session of the Euro-Mediterranean Regional and Local Assembly (ARLEM)

The 9th plenary session of the Euro-Mediterranean Regional and Local Assembly (ARLEM) took place in Giza, Egypt, on 20 and 21 February 2018 at the invitation of Mr. Mohamed Kamal El Daly, Governor of Giza.
 
The ARLEM members adopted ARLEM's priorities for 2018-2019 as detailed in the Action Plan as well as the recommendations, during the Plenary Session on 21 February. The Assembly also determined the topics and the rapporteurs for 2019.

Furthermore, the plenary session adopted two draft ARLEM reports: on  women's empowerment in the Mediterranean region, by rapporteur Mary Freehill (IE/PES), City Councillor of Dublin, and on the role of subnational authorities in the Mediterranean region in combating radicalisation and violent extremism among young people, by rapporteur Mohamed Kamal El Daly, Governor of Giza, Egypt.
