Calling Europe's Youth: Join the European Committee of the Regions at Yo!Fest in Maastricht!

Europe is facing a challenging time, which requires us all to move beyond the typical 'business as usual approach.' With this in mind, the Mayors, regional presidents and local councilors that make up the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) invite Europe's youth to come and share their views and experiences of EU membership.

2017’s YO!Fest is a unique opportunity to hear from Europe's youth and a key highlight of Europe Calling, a year of events to mark the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Maastricht treaty. Not only did the Maastricht Treaty allow for an EU citizenship, it also paved the way for the creation of the CoR. We are therefore ready to celebrate our creation with the 3,000 young participants and to debate topics that matter for them for the future of Europe.

Who? Representatives of European youth political parties and local decision-makers from the European Committee of the Regions, including President Markkula, 1st Vice-President Lambertz, plus the CoR trainees

What? Youth Citizens' Dialogue and political debate, focused on the rights and responsibilities of EU citizenship and the security and integration of EU citizens.

When? Tuesday 7 February 2017, 15.00 – 16.30

Where? Pathe Cinema, Sphinxkwatier, Maastricht

To round off our discussions with Europe's youth, representatives from the Yo!Fest will also take part in the Committee of the Regions February Plenary Session in Brussels on 9 February, on the occasion of the adoption of the CoR resolution on the 60th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome.

So, join us on the 7th of February in Maastricht and tell us what you think!
