107th CoR Plenary Session

The members of the Committee of the Regions (CoR) will soon meet at the 107th Plenary Session.

The first day of the plenary session (25 June) will be essentially dedicated to the 20 years anniversary of the CoR and the next day, the members will vote a Resolution on this topic.
On this occasion, the CoR has the pleasure of welcoming a number of personalities to debate on the challenges and opportunities for the Committee of the Regions:
  • Oldřich Vlasák, Vice-president of the European Parliament
  • Vaira Vīķe-Freiberga, Vice-chair of the European Council Reflection Group on the Future of the EU2030 and former President of Latvia
  • Yves Leterme, Secretary-general of the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA) and former Prime Minister of Belgium 
The CoR members will also discuss, together with representatives of the CoR's Young Professionals Forum, on how regions and cities can bring the EU closer to the citizens as well as on the political and institutional future of the CoR.  
On the second day of the plenary session (26 June), the members will hold a debate on the impact of CoR opinions and will discuss and vote a draft Resolution on the Proposals of the Committee of the Regions for the new European Union Legislative Mandate.
