Annabelle Jaeger participated in the annual breakfast of the Greens organised during UNFCCC COPs to exchange with Green Parliamentarians from Korea, Turkey, Australia, France, the Netherlands, the EU, Canada, etc about the ongoing negotiations on climate and the place of cities and regions within this context.
World Climate Summit, Lima, Peru. It brought together high level participants from both the public and private sector. It strived to develop the strongest multi-stakeholder platform supporting a universal climate agreement at COP 21 in Paris 2015.CoR President was invited to speak at the event but had to cancel.

Annabelle Jaeger attended the High level ministerial Dialogue on the Durban Platform for Enhanced Action in Lima, Peru. This specific part of the COP is the one in charge of the draft text for the future global climate agreement.
COP20 UNFCCC, Lima, Peru - Side-Event Committee of the Regions/European Economic and Social Committee. The Committee of the Regions and the European Economic and Social Committee co-organised a side-event in Lima, Peru during the COP20 UNFCCC: "Renewable energy as a local development opportunity".
ICLEI/Inter-Parliamentary Union meeting on the occasion of the COP20, officially supported by the UNFCCC: From vision to action plan - Raising the global level of ambition through national and local action. CoR president was invited to speak but had to cancel. Mrs Jaeger was then offered to speak but as she spoke at an ICLEI event the day before (Lima Dialogues) and she had another event to speak to simultaneously, it was agreed with ICLEI that she would not speak.

The European Commission has asked the Parliament to endorse the 2030 Framework by the end of 2014.
The Environment Council adopted conclusions on the preparations for the 20th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 20), which will take place from 1 to 12 December 2014 in Lima, Peru. "The conclusions adopted by the Council build on the agreement reached in Brussels last week by EU leaders. Both pave the way for Europe to take a leading role on climate challenges with a view to the Lima Conference in December and the Paris Conference in 2015. Our goal is a fair and ambitious global agreement, which would make all countries of the world responsible for a crucial issue for the future of the planet, setting out a model of socially and environmentally sustainable development," said the president of the Council, Italian Minister for the Environment Gian Luca Galletti.

ENVE commission discussed and adopted the opinion drafted

ENVE commission elected Ms Annabelle Jaeger (FR/PES) as rapporteur for the opinion on "2030 Framework for climate and energy".
