With a new cycle of governance in Europe on the horizon, the Committee of the Regions has adopted its very first White Paper on multilevel governance on 16 June 2009.
By publishing this political document, the Committee of the Regions has taken the initiative to submit its vision of an inclusive European decision making process and political debate, based on a mode of governance which involves local and regional authorities in the formulation and implementation of European policies.
On the proposals put forward in the White Paper for implementing Multilevel Governance, the Committee of the Regions has conducted a public consultation in order to gather the opinions of the authorities, associations and interested parties. You will find all contributions as well as the consultation report on this webpage.
Based on the results of this consultation, the Committee of the Regions will draw up an action plan to implement its recommendations.
