The draft opinion reacts to the communication from the European Commission on Intra EU Solidarity in Asylum Policy. It discusses the potential contribution from cities and regions in the operation of the Common European Asylum System, which is under development, and it puts forward proposals contributing to a fair balance of responsibility between the Member States.
