18th ENVE Commission meeting  
The 18th meeting of the ENVE commission will feature an exchange of views on the current agenda of the EU environmental policy with Karmenu Vella, Commissioner for Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries.
 
The ENVE Commission will debate and adopt the opinion of Mauro D'Attis (IT/EPP) on rules for internal market in natural gas, with presence of the European Commission and the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER).
 
The draft opinion on the proposal of Drinking Water Directive, officially the proposal of Directive on the quality of water intended for human consumption (recast), will be debated and voted. The rapporteur, Mark Weinmeister (DE/EPP), will lead the position of the EU cities and regions in this important piece of legislation, which follows the first successful European Citizens' Initiative 'Right2Water'.
 
ENVE will debate and vote the contribution of the CoR to the UNFCCC COP24 on climate change. The rapporteur, Andrew Varah Cooper (UK/EA) will invite the European Commission and Arne Lietz (MEP) to participate in the exchange of views.
 
The ENVE Commission will exchange views with André Van de Nadort (NL/PES), rapporteur on the European strategy for plastics, and with Roby Biwer (LU/PES) on the contribution of the CoR to the Convention on Bio-diversity CBD COP14.
 
The ENVE commission will also appoint a number of new rapporteurs on own-initiative opinions and newly published files by the European Commission.
